They wouldn't tell you if a catastrophic one was going to hit anyway.
this one just proves that either they seen it and didn't tell anyone or they aren't half as good at spotting as they say they are. Those people were hit with about a hundred PSI shockwave which blew out windows, weak walls and doors and knocked quite a few on their arses. Can remember about 37 years ago i was ten watching TV and a big fireball went by the window that hit the atlantic ocean some 700 miles away, Said it was car sized.

I've heard estimates that the Russian meteoroid was traveling between 30,000 and 40,000 mph. Heck, I think I've been nailed in the stands by dirt clods going that fast at Macon or Belleville.
