This is kind of my point. There is no incentive for the "smaller" teams to show up. If they think they're NOT a top 10 car...they're wont bother. But if you have 20 guys show up...you could make more for EVERY spot you earn. Yea, it's only 5 bucks...but me personally...I've pulled off the track and been like, where did I end up? If it was 11th through last...I didn't care. If it was 10th or 11th...I wanted to know which one!!

When I did that my car count DOUBLED....so I guess 500 to to win 100 75 50 40 38 36 34 32 30 28 26 24 22 20 18 16 14 12 10 would be much better that way you can crash some one ove 2 bucks!!

Everybody likes a piece of pie...so like the Shoot out in Tulsa its a 1000 to win and 100 on back so if you cant win you make 1 lap and pull in..

If you are wanting to make money racing....SELL EVERYTHING NOW....then you can say ya made money!!!

Have you looked at Bill May's MMSA results lately, There are at least 15 cars at any given race date that have a chance to win the main event and the number of different winners in a season tend to bear this out.

. Amen to that! One of the few things you invest in and hope to do as well as break even!

I think as a racer we all want as much as we can get. What every sanction body needs is a sponsor that is not expecting a return on his investment. Someone who is passionate about the sport and wants to see it grow! We are very lucky to have such a sponsor for Mid-America Lightning Sprints with Jayhawk Millwright in Kansas City. Our first race on April 13th we are guaranteeing $650 to win and $70 to start. We have a complete break down on what we pay for all races. Go to www.midamericalightningsprints.com and click under L.A. Spring Nationals. We also would like to see as many travelers come run with us as possible, so we have created an incentive program "The first 5 drivers that pre-register for any of the five MALS events of 2013 AND TAKES the green flag in the A Feature of that event with a one way tow of 500 miles or more will be eligible for a $100 tow money award. Actual mileage determined by Google Earth." If a driver fails to make the A feature the $100 will go to the next driver in line determined by order they preregistered. Preregistration will be done by email only! Please email your name, town and car number to mbillingsracing@gmail.com if you meet the above criteria. If you wish to be added to our emails list please email me at mbillingsracing@gmail.com this way I can send you new developments and there are some we will be announcing March 1st!

I agree that start money from 10th on back is the worst thing that has killed car count. Why should a racer use fuel, tires, and car maintence to finish in those spots. I have argued this for years and was a leader of start and park if you were not in the top ten. Paying heavy on the top and shorting the rest of the field is a disgrace to the racers. Keep it up and you will end up in the future with 10 cars.

What we need is a few more millionaire promoters doing this stuff as a hobby and maybe a couple of more thousand fans in their bleachers screaming and hollering for more mini-sprinters.

Did I ever tell you the joke about a piss-ante floating down the river on his back and hollering for them to raise the draw bridge.
