As a young lad, I can remember Salt running his U-77 Unlimited Hydroplane, Country Boy, in Detroit. Nice looking boat. It was a cabover (engine behind the driver). Back then, in the early 70s, that was an unusual design. Now, all are like that.

One thing I have learned in the nearly 50 years i have followed motorsports is that there are certain aspects the sport has, and will always have: Money talks - always has, always will. The more you have, the more clout you have. Entertaining personalities. Hard work. Emotions. Respect.

Another thing I have learned outside of motorsports is that everyone has their strengths and everyone has their shortcomings. Nobody is perfect.

This thread has all of that. We're just part of that thing called the Human Race.

On a sidebar, Salt's brother, George, was killed in an unlimited hydroplane back in '74. Maybe they can finally get back together and work on a new one now?
