421 North to 22 is a good route but you will not save 30 minutes unless there is some really bad traffic mess on 31. I live just west of town on route 22 and travel to Indy frequently, about the same time either way. Might be a bit quicker if you know the back route to the speedway. However, it is 2 lane road all the way to Kokomo and if there is traffic on a Friday evening it can be hard to pass. So, if you want to avoid the construction, take 421 North but don't expect to save a huge amount of time.

I should say by whatever route you get here, just show up. I will be there, cant miss the last show of the year (at least for me). Will be cold but great racing will warm the body and be great for the mind. My college age son will be with me, have brought the boy up right and he is a passionate sprint fan who has introduced some of his buddies to the sport.

I'm looking forward to the race, but it sucks that I've seen at least three great racers without a ride for it. I've heard rumors that Jerry Coons Jr, Scotty Wier, and Shane Cottle are all rideless. Those guys always put on a heck of a show at Kokomo.
I'll be there nonetheless, but I hope we get a good turn out!

If you want to avoid going into town, turn North off of Highway 22 onto 400 West (you will see a sign for Northwestern High School). 2.5 miles North turn right on 350 North to Davis Rd. Turn South on Davis to the track. A bit further but no stop lights.
