Well in 2009 and 2010, Willie Kahne was Joey's Crew Chief. In 2011 Baby Huey (Kale) took over as crew chief when Willie and Kole really got Factory Kahne off the ground. Joey and Kale never seemed to have the chemistry, and then Joey had his injury. This year, the chemistry still seems to be an issue. As in most situations, blood is thicker than water. Willie and Kole even moved Factory Kahne to California. Sounds like they seen the writing on the walls. The 3 guys that built Kasey's wing program will all be out of the shop at the end of the season. Pretty unfortunate.

Sounds like the whole team struggles to work well together. I have talked with Joey very little so I can't point the blame there. However I have said it before, ill say it again. Cody isn't the chemistry issue. I know Darrah very well. He is a good clean cut kid, and easy to be around. He isn't cocky, and hasn't led "fame" go to his head. Still talks to my dad and I every time we see him. Cody struggles with last years crew chief and even some the beginning of this year. For a short stint throughout this season a former local crew chief was involved, and things really got turned around. Im not saying Darrah is the next kinser, or Foyt, in talent aspects but personality he is a good kid to have around.
"I have a hard time believing the internet rumors saying @JoeySaldana is leaving @KKRTeam at the end of the season." DIRECT MESSAGE FROM JOEY TO ME: "It's true I got fired yesterday." POSTED BY MY SOURCE: "@JoeySaldana I hope you're just playing along with the rumors." DIRECT MESSAGE FROM JOEY TO ME: "Wish I was."
Time for a change for all involved, problem for Joey is that there are not a whole lot of options open for him other than starting his own team if he wants to stay with the outlaws full time. They have struggled the past month or so. He is with Kahne until the end of the season. Should be able to get shirts a little cheaper the rest of the year.

2010-likely on the way to the championship until the hard flip at fall Eldora race which resulted in severe concussion.
2011- running up front in points until caught up in someone else's wreck that resulted in broken arm, ribs, and collapsed lung. Missed close to 1/3 of the season.
Both of those are could've, would've, should've situations and some bad racing luck. Would have loved to have seen how either of those seasons played out without the injuries. Agree with about 2012. They have just not been clicking this year. Doesn't help switching chassis mid season either. Seven years is a long time for a sprint car team to be together in this day and age. Wish Joey the best of luck for 2013 and hope he can find a ride of equal caliber.
I say to Kasey; pull the wings off the 9 car, and find a driver in the Indy area to jump back on the Usac tour with. There is a healthy crop of talent in Indiana.
