Randy Bateman fired up his champ car Sunday (12th). He was happy with the results. Looking to get some chassis dynomometer time this week. Hopefully he has the fuel system dialed in for ethanol and the car will pull good on the dyno. If so the 55 should be at Springfield this weekend.
The prediction for weather right now is for about 75 and sunny, should be a great day. I also heard Cottle will be in the 14. It sure would be nice to see Stanbrough in the 37. I hope the teams have a handle on the ethanol deal, it has been somewhat of a debacle. There are definitely some cars that are still stayin away. I guess I can't blame them. Regardless, I'm excited and looking forward to a great day at my favorite track.
Too bad. We always enjoyed hangin' out a little while with Ol' Jack after the Bettenhausen.
Silver Crown Championship Dirt Cars properly driven on a one mile dirt track are classic poetry in motion. Using that analogy, Jack Hewitt is one of the greatest poets of all time.
WOW, check out how clueless this Springfield State Journal Register writer is about the Silver Crown cars.
Quote: The weekend’s first race — the USAC Silver Crown Series Tony Bettenhausen 100 — is an open-wheel contest with cars similar in design to those found on the Formula 1 and Indy Car circuits.
