Mike, you may call yourself only a fan, I know you are a fan that makes every race you possibly can and fully understandas all aspects of the sport.

Local press releases show Ray Graham, Paul White and Bobby Santos doing double duty, so I would say either several teams that couldn't show up at Shangri la are headed to Oswego. Or the teams that were there have second cars with them and the drivers couldn't get away for a middle of the week show. If some want to call that rationalizing, go for it. Mike and I both know most people involved in racing also have a day job, when I looked at this schedule it seemed like it would be tough for the teams without having the week off. Guess we have one more day to wait to see who shows up at Oswego. I for one am remaining positive we will see a good show at Oswego.

I have to disagree with you that all folks around Oswego care about are Big Block Dirt Modifieds. Yes Brewerton and Fulton draw the dirt fans but Oswego is alive and well in it's history of being a pavement track running supermodifieds. Since the Torrese's bought the track last year car counts are up, crowds are good and there is an excitement that had been missing for the last couple of years under the Furlong and Gioia ownership. The Torrese's are pouring a ton of money into the Oswego Speedway and will continue maiking improvements over the years. One improvement I am sure you will never see is them turning it into a dirt track. They don't need to, their fans love pavement supermodified racing.

An by the way the competition at Oswego this year is the closest it has been in years, which has resulted in some scary accidents at Oswego this year.

With you being a former car owner, you know full well the challenges that car owners, crews & drivers face today. First of all it is quite a haul for the midwestern based teams to make it to New York state. Fuel for towing rigs isn't cheap and for drivers & crew members time off is tough to get sometimes. As you said, mid week shows present a challenge.

Second of all, equipment breaks down and with this intense heat, I for one don't envy crews working on the road to make repairs. We traveled to Knoxville for the nationals for a number of years and I remember those guys working outside in parking lots during the heat of the day to do routine maintenance and make repairs. Certainly not for the faint of heart.

Last but certainly not least, pavement winged sprint cars have certain areas of racing and I don't believe that New York state is one of the larger ones. With that being said, promoters take a huge chance on bringing in outside shows that certainly won't be supported by local racers since they don't race that type of equipment.

I have seen a number of races with lower car counts that have been exceptional. Many times it is quality over quantity and that is what makes a show great. I hope you have an enjoyable evening of racing at the Big O. I know you will enjoy the supers for sure.

You know Mike I agree with everything you said. I am also sure you know I will enjoy this weekend no matter what, my grandsons are headed this way, many of my friends will be in town this weekend for the Old Timers Reunion, then you add racing into the mix it doesn't get any better than that. I will get a chance to see three of my favorites race again this year Jacob Wilson, Paul White and Bobby Santos, I consider that an extra plus.

I am hoping all of the teams have a safe night of racing, we don't have to deal with rain and I see one of my three favorites in victory lane at the end of the Must See Xtreme Sprint car race.

The past few weeks at Oswego I watched several teams pretty much write off several cars, very costly. Luckily Joe and Otto were able to walk away from those crashes. As a former car owner I always felt and still do the best night of racing is when you can roll the car into the hauler and head off to the next race without spending the week rebuilding the car. That is what I am hoping for everyone running at Oswego this weekend. An of course when the ISMA race rolls out Donovan, Trevor and Grandma will be cheering for Timmy J. and the Soule 32, Paul White, Bobby Santos and Joe Gosek among others.

Not joking at all and no syrup that I can see. Just stating facts.

I don't see them splintering AVSS/HOSS what so ever. In looking at schedules, AVSS/HOSS has an 18 race schedule for 2012. About the same number as past years and most of the venues are the ones they normally run. MSXSS has a 15 race schedule and they are running at some of the same venues while also racing elsewhere. They only have 3 dates that they go head to head so I don't see that as a major problem. If anything, MSXSS gives car owners and drivers more options to race more often. It is still up to car owners and drivers to decide where they want to race. It is also up to fans to decided where they want to see racing. If it is to long of a haul, They don't go.

You say you support AVSS/HOSS and that the east coasters can have the ones that traveled to Sangri La & Oswego. The east coast travelers were McCune, Baumgartner, Larrison, Pierce, Wilson, Gerster, Hellberg, DeCaire, J. Cox, Olson, Eden, Caryer, Bloom, T.Cox and Lower. Most of these drivers support AVSS/HOSS as well. Since AVSS/HOSS didn't have anything scheduled, why shouldn't they take advantage of the opportunity to race?

I personally don't see a negative with MSXSS. They have provided good racing, TV exposure for the drivers and sponsors and I haven't heard them bad mouth either AVSS or HOSS. They haven't scheduled on top of AVSS/HOSS with a lot of the same dates either. They are also racing in new markets of the country which should also help expand a fan base. I also don't see that the series has in your words dis Hoosier. They have chosen American Racer tires as there tire of choice for the series.

Sorry if I don't see your point. I guess we will just have to agree to disagree.
