I think unmarked cars that are not Crown Vics are a great thing. Think about this, your traveling down the road at 10 miles over and you see a Crown vic coming the other way, you are going to slow down. Now you are doing 10 over and you see a Mustang coming the other way and think nothing about it until Barney is behind you with lights on. I only travel at 5 mph over the speed suggestion anyway because I know most cops give you that leeway. About the 70 speed zones, it is crazy. Before Plainfield it is 70mph, then 65, then 55. I am doing 5 over and still getting passed like I am stand still.

I had a big screw-up in Ft. Wayne construction on my way to Gas City in April for the 3 day usac show/ Winchester rain out. $436.00, 21 over at the 45 mph sign...ouch...:redflag:

I thought the idea of police patrols was to slow traffic. If you see a Crown Vic. you slow down. Mission accomplished.
If you see a Mustang and do not slow down mission was not accoplished, but revenue was. I remember years ago, Illinois would park abandon patrol cars along the Interstate to slow cars. It worked real well, but did not create much revenue. |
