Awsome race, one of the best little 500's I have seen. Thought of the night, THAT'S A 6 cylende! Man tony elliot brought back some memories. I sure hope he is in that car next year. Great competion this year, even after the big wreck. Doug heaveron, heart break car was runing very strong then boom. No warning at all. I hope he gives it 1 more chance. Great race. Thoughts and payers go out to the family of the track worker that lost his life

What a super, super job by Shane Cottle and the Contos team! Dirt only my butt. Shane is a racer that can win in a sprint, midget, or SC on dirt or asphalt. And he is destined to be ranked right up there with the greats of Indiana open wheel racing before he is through. Congratulations Shane!!!:thumb:applaud::checkered:

According to the official results, the official margain of victory was just 5.89 seconds. 500 laps on a quarter mile, and the top two were separated by less than a full lap. That's pretty impressive.

Tony was smoking his right rear for at least the last fifty laps. Had he been able to save his tire we might have seen an incredible finish. That car of Elliott's was fast, real fast. I hope he brings it back next year. There is no one who deserves a win in the Little 5 more than Elliott. Tough break for all involved when McCune, Heveron, Gordon, and the rest went out on lap 98. And a big shout out to Johnny Rodriquez who put on a hell of a show Saturday night. This year both the Little 500 and the Big 500 mirrored each other with an inordinate number of cautions but great racing when the green was out. And the Freedom 100 was something else! Five wide at Indy? Holy %$*^#!:thumb What great racing we saw this weekend.:applaud:

And the heck of it is, Elliott's crew was told that pitting when the yellow came back out right after the big mess on lap 98, that it would count as his first mandatory stop. However, apparently there was some reconsideration on someones part, and the team was then told it did not count, thus a second stop shortly thereafter and the lack of pushtruck ordeal. This cost them a lap, which of course they made up and kept Shane in sight by a straight at the end.
(Tony asked Gene to keep his seat bolted in for next year!):applaud:

Maybe they actually won by a lap??

It's over with now. Congrats to Shane Cottle and the whole Contos team on an outstanding run.:respect:

I'd also wish to extend our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Roy Hiatt, as well as the entire staff at Anderson Speedway.
As hard as it was to enjoy the remainder of the event as a fan, to return to their positions and perform as professionally as they were able to, my sincere gratitude to everyone involved with the Little 500.

Godspeed Mr. Hiatt

So it might have been slightly more than a quarter of a lap. They qualified in the 11 second bracket and they were running in the 12-13 second bracket during green flag racing. Still a very respectable finish.

Im sorry Kenny Biro for staying in 4th like you did for over 100+ laps.. and it being your first little 500 race, you hung in there. being spun out and moved to the back of the pack really was screwy but finishing 17th still was something to brag about seeing how young you are.

GOOD JOB KID!:checkered:
