I would say the start time has more to do with getting people home early on a Sunday night than with support classes. I am going to have petitions from some people trying to put Indiana back on the time we had for years. With daylight savings time, you can't start early enough.

I understand that the change in cooler policy has been rescinded and taken off the website. If so, good move by new promoters!

The site says all times are Eastern Standard; I'll bet they mean Eastern Daylight, which is what Terre Haute is on.

Wth is the difference?

---------- Post added at 6:19 PM ---------- Previous post was at 6:17 PM ----------

Terre Haute is on Eastern Standard time and utilizes Daylight Savings.... but it's still Eastern Standard time zone.

I went to the website via the link in the first post, you would think if they are going to promote the Jim Hurtubise classic they should at least spell his name right on their site!

I saw the same exact misspelling on his Norm Nelson prepared Plymouth at the 1966 Yankee 250 at IRP.

I like to take a cooler if I can, but not being able to will never keep me away from a track if the racing is good. That's the most important thing. As long as things are reasonably priced, then it's fine. I understand saving money, but the track has to make money too. Plus, you can go to your car if you want to. Eldora had to take bringing beer in away several years ago. The price they charge is reasonable so it's not a big deal to me.

I agree.. I wouldn't mind buying concessions at the track if they were reasonable. $2.50 for a bottle of water or $4.00 for a frozen pink slime hamburger patty is too much. I would love to go and not hassle with dragging a cooler along. But, I understand they are trying to make a profit. All I ask is, the promoters lower their profit margin of concessions and they could probably make their profit back on larger sales volume. Just my opinion, I will be at the track either way.

I don't know how it is at other tracks, but at THAT in previous years, the promoter had no say in the concession people. The fairboard gave out that contract.

You guys need to suck it up... THAT is a historical piece of racing that the Sargent/O'connors are trying to bring back off life support. They've invested tens of thousands. Buy a coke and a less than stellar burger... Toss a little extra ketchup and mustard on it if that's what it takes.
