That's bad news for Matt. He's one of the "good guys". I can tell you first hand that the chest injury is a real SOB. I tripped and fell while coming out of an aircraft and fell, landing on my chest from 7' to the hanger floor. That was 6 years ago and I still occasionally feel pain. The cartilege that holds everything in place in your chest takes a LONG time to heal because breathing constantly keeps it moving and thus keeps it from healing.

Matt is a GREAT guy and I know he will pull through no problem. I was just chatting with him at Eldora about old times when he ran my brothers car at Lincoln, NE and then at Eldora one year. I actually came up with a good nick name for him but can't really repeat it over the PA system at the races... but i guess it's ok for here...

Get well soon Matt, the racing WORLD needs you. It sure happens fast don't it, I was caught up in a cave in a couple of summers ago ditching. BOOM that fast. Glad your still here with us man. If you all need any help just let the racing world know, we'll all try to be there for you ok.

Damn, that just totally sucks!! Matt has always drove his ass off. At Eldora last week he didnt do so hot in the sprints but was pretty fast in the mod he was racing. No matter what he sits in, he gives it 110%.....
