I don't know why, but the picture in my previous post didn't seem to show up on anyone's computer but mine. Hopefully it is there now.

I have hauled for the last 6 years with an open trailer. Just last year a buddy of mine let me use his open trailer with springs on the axles. The trailer before never had suspension on it. I dont run with an open trailer cause its cool or because we like it. With no sponsors its just a fact of life that if we want to go racing money has to go where it is best needed. Believe it or not i manage to haul enough spares to build another car minus fuel cell, engine, and frame. I wish the biggest worry i had was a hauler that is too long.

Don't remember who my stepdad said he was driving for at the time, but thought they were pretty innovative with this stacker trailer.

In 1970, as a young lad of 11, my family took a vacation, where we spent a rainy Saturday night in Terre Haute. My folks weren't into racing, so when we pulled into the hotel, and the parking lot was packed with wet sprint cars on open trailers, I had to go check 'em out. I must have spent an hour wandering around in the rain drooling over these beautiful monsters, dreaming of what it must be like to strap into one and matt the throttle! A couple years later, my brother was pitting for a guy who ran a super modified at the local 1/4 mile Riverside Stadium in Kansas City, and I began tagging along on Saturday nights. After one summer of that, lifes compass was zeroed in forever! |
