Eagle is a high banked 1/3, and every race I've ever been to there has been full of excitement. That's why it's one of my favorite tracks. As far as car count goes, think quality, not quantity. As Jerry said, you'll see some of the best. You're not going to get cheated.

USAC Triple Crown Champion Jerry Coons jr. will be at Bellville! USAC Triple Crown Champion Dave Darland will be at Bellville! Last years USAC Driver Champion Bryan Clauson will be at Bellville! This years Driver Champion pts. leader will be? You guessed it, at Bellville!

Is everyone telling USAC that they dont pay enough, is that why they are all going to Belleville?

While Belleville does pay more, I think it has at least as much to do with the fact that it is the most prestigious midget race in the country. IMO, this is one race that they ought to really try to make an effort to schedule around. If anything, for the driver's sake. They could start this Hot August Nights tour with Knoxville, Oskaloosa and then move on to Eagle, Dodge City and Grain Valley and give these guys a chance to make even more money. A lot more if they sanctioned a return of the Ron Shuman Classic @ Lakeside as part of next year's tour.

With that said, those fans at Eagle are going to still get to see a great show. Especially for fans that don't get to see a lot of non-winged action. That field will still be a strong one.

That's why I'll be there. Then it's a late trip back to Belleville.

I kinda agree with Jerry. A damn hard choice to make.....Midgets or Sprints...both high quality shows.

What is the latest with the IRL road to Indy program? I thought/assumed that it was going to be a yearly award. It would seem that having the ability to get into an Indy Lights car would make people want to stay with USAC. Has anyone heard comments from BC about this?

It is looking like, I may have to eat some crow and admit that Belleville is going to have a strong car count. If the car count is as good as advertised, I will making the drive Saturday morning to watch the finals Saturday night.

The Road to Indy program counts only the top 25 finishes regardless of which USAC series so in effect you could miss races like Bobby East did during sprint week without it affecting your points in the Road to Indy program, it only affected his National sprint points.
