EXTREMELY WET GROUNDS
FORCE SATURDAY’S PUTNAMVILLE SPRINT RACE POSTPONEMENT

Weather conditions have intervened to force postponement of this Saturday’s AMSOIL USAC National Sprint race at Lincoln Park Speedway in Putnamville, Ind.

“The past couple of weeks have been challenging for us and we need a weekend to regroup and address the problems associated with all the inclement weather,” says race organizer Joe Spiker. “We want to provide USAC and its participants with the best racing conditions possible and due to the rain and other factors we are unable to do that this weekend. We plan to be closed this weekend so that we can install additional drainage and make other improvements to our facility to help prepare for similar weather situations in the future.”

USAC officials are in discussion with the race organizer to re-schedule the event as part of the remaining 2011 AMSOIL National Sprint Car schedule.

The next AMSOIL USAC National Sprint race is May 20 at the Bloomington (Ind.) Speedway.

Is there any way at all that they'd reschedule this race for 5/21, the night after Bloomington?

USAC Midgets are Haubstadt 5/21... so that date won't work.

Lets be careful what we wish for. Remember what the weather has been for the Bloomington USAC race the last two years.

I don't like that idea because Twin Cities already has a sprint car race scheduled. I know it isn't USAC but I still would like to see them be successful with a week night show. Why schedule against another track on a week night and hurt both car counts and fans.

Be nice to people on the way up. You might need them on the way down. Jimmy Durante

That would be Awsome if that can happen! but ya gotta remember That's a lot of racing in a short amount of time! The top guy's won't show because ISW points are to important as well as race budget's for ISW and they only have 2 day break so that would make it one day off!

Yes maybe half would show up cause of the money who really knows!

Great Idea D.O. Maybe you should post a poll of USAC drivers and teams only that would show up and if there's enough You and Spiker should talk to USAC just remember their staff has a lot of work on ISW also!

Only, cause thats what will bring the most fans in that's most important to keep them happy too! Yes we will have plenty of cars cause all local guys will show up for sure!
