The fairboard hasn't ran them out yet? For the record though, it costs to get inside the electronics show. If you don't buy anything, there is an admission cost. If you buy something, I believe you get the admission price off your purchase.

If they wanted to sell, then why not just list it for sale? Raising rent on promoters so they quit would serve no benefit. The time to sell would have been 5-15 years ago. That land is less desireable now. If I'm not mistaken, didn't Tony Hulman donate that land to the Fairgrounds and design the track? It would be a real slap in the face to him if the current people in charge are doing what they are rumored to be doing. My thanks to USAC for taking the extreme financial risk to keep my favorite track going. However I agree that to promote it well they should have a formal press release announcing as such, from a top official (no offense spridge). It would only take them a few minutes to put something on here. The fact is it is on the schedule so I will be there in May expecting a race but we don't even know who to call for tickets!

They tried to sell it 2-5 years ago, but everyone raised a stink. There was two or three proposals form a developer. One was sell the whole plot of land and the person buying would give them land (that is a swamp) and money behind the fairgrounds for the whole place. Another was just the land south of the tracks selling and the fair board was to get the swamp land and less money. A petition went around and the fairboard didn't take the proposals. I agree, time to sell is past.

Here in Terre Haute Lloyd, charging a few bucks admission might help filter out some of the deadbeats and keep them from getting in the way of the people that actually came there to look at stuff they might end up buying. It's a big problem at these kind of sales. Especially ones that have electronics.
