If it is that big of the race--why is it not on abc or nbc? What is it on today the home shopping channel? The local abc channel here has a guy trying to sell weight loss pills. A side note the Michigan nascar race is coming up. The track has tv spots telling how cheap tickets we be. The dumb thing is the they are running the spots with the June race dates. LOL

Nascar has lost its characters in terms of drivers. Yes, there are some around but nothing like they were back in the golden age of Nascar. Also, there is no brand loyality anymore b/c the cars all look the same back in the 60's and 70's you could tell a charger from a chevelle or a torino.

Nascar has become more and more follow the leader racing. That is why I am heading to a track tonight that is charging ten bucks to get in and watch 5 or 6 classes of cars with one of the classes being a regional series.

I'm not starting anything, but if the race is so great, then why are you on your phone talking about it? I've never once been browsing message boards when I'm at a sprint car or late model race.

That place is for the 500 and nothing else should ever be run there. The month of May is sacred, and as far as I'm concerned NASCAR doesn't belong there.

pavement is just never an overall good experience. it was my first ever nascar race and i had a blast with the experience and the goings on at the speedway. ill be going to my first indy 500 next year as well to experience it firsthand.

Congrats to Chip and the whole team on both the NASCAR and IRL side on accomplishing what they have this year. How about Steve Hmiel preparing for this historic day by taking in the sprint car race at LPS last night. Steve once told me something that has stuck with me .. "At the end of the day racers win" !

Congrats !!

I agree in it being sacred. But hasn't Milka driving (or lack thereof) and Ashley Judd's silly hats tarnish that image?
