Robert Ballou is a true asset to sprint car racing, he talks to people while working on his car if he can.
As far as the running out of fuel what size tank where they using. I had a driver come up and scream at me about running out of fuel and needing a red flag. I looked at his car then told him, if you want to run a Midget tank then run a Midget. It was a 3/8 and a shortned 20 lap feature. THAT is quite a large track, what size tanks were they runing.

Unsure of tank size but when 5-6 cars fall victim to fuel then it is a problem!

Happened last year at the MSCS race and then at the USAC race as Jerry Coons Jr and few others ran out as well.

Nobody forces them to run midget tanks. Maybe it will take a guy to run a REAL sprint car tank and win races when everyone else runs out of fuel. How silly would those little tanks look then.

Many tracks in US are way too dry to start with and don't need wheelpacking-especially Ohio.

I know at LPS last saturday they had every class out there wheel packing. That's that way it should be if the cars have to wheel pack due to really wet track conditions.

I was sitting right behind the flagman at THAT when Robert came out on the 4 wheeler during the fuel stop. He was having a discussion with the flagman about this being the 2nd time he had run out of fuel and then they had a fuel stop.

I heard him say he had a 32 gallon tank and it was full at the start.

Is 32 gallons a midget tank? I've wondered what the size difference is between a midget and a sprint tank.

Thanks

If Robert (& others) would have not done this I do not think this show would have started until well after 10:00pm maybe closer to 11.

I do find it very discouraging that neither THAT or MSCS thanked him for his help. 2 years in a row I have seen several cars run out of fuel during this event.

Robert has been on the bad end of this deal the past 2 years and I really think MSCS officials need to re think some of their rules when it comes to this race.

I definitely would want to be one of the last to be pushed off after seeing this BS 2 years in a row.

Keep up the good work Robert, you are a class act

Jason, well said. Robert definatetly is a very important aspect of wingless racing. Its to bad that MSCS doesn't realize this. Best of luck to the Mad Man
