This series blows my mind

You say it's for low buck working guys then you try to schedule races in 7 different states

I wish this series luck as a lower budget racer really needs something. I think the Spec Sprints in California has a pretty good formula. A few tracks run them as a support series and they combine points. I think they have some kind of end of the year championships. They run carburated 305's with starters too. Travel is expensive and this might be a deterent for the ASCT. I hope not, we need all the sprint car races we can get in Illinois.

Nice to see Wisconsin mentioned but i think a show at Charter or Dodge County in Beaver Dam would go over better than Wilmot?

John,

You mention Kentucky Lake as a possible track that the ASCT is interested in. The track was put up for sale back in the fall and it was announced that no more races would be scheduled there by the promoter. Has the track sold or has Sherri changed her mind about re-opening?

John, I had heard you mention the track in Mt Vernon, Il. Anything more on that one. Be nice for us to get to race that close to home again.
Thanks,
Dan Chady

Dan,

I didn't see that on John's original list but I thought that Mt. Vernon was also closed? Have they re-opened it or is that just on the wish list?

Yes they were closed this year. Don't know the status for next year but was hoping they might try to run some of the sprint races. Be nice to only have a 1/2 hr drive instead of 4 1/2
