Versus was already controlled by Comcast before this announcement... Directv and Comcast had a little disagreement about pricing and now I don't get the Versus channel... It is Directv or Dish Network out here in the country... No cable. That is definately not good for the IRL. Oops sorry they don't care if rednecks watch.:2:

As for the comcast turning Versus into another ESPN... it is going to be a few years before they can accomplish that, and that is a big if at best. Just my opinion.
I have DirectTV also Bill, 1 reason I went to it was to watch races on versus. I was a little pissed when they no longer carried Versus. That and all the races from versus I had on DVR won't play either.

I use to have Dish Network, when I signed up I had Versus and Big Ten Network......4 months later they dropped them from my programming. 1 month later I dropped Dish Network from my "payment programming".

I now have Comcast and am anxiously awaiting the chance to get AT&T UVerse or whatever it is.

I hate paying for TV.....but there is nothing worth watching on free TV anymore.

Because of the NHL? "A few."
Because of college football? "A few."
Because of the IRL? "Never heard of it."

Seems a bunch of folks were steamed about missing out on "bull riding". And they were not just from Texas and Oklahoma either.

Whooda thunkit??

BTW, she thinks Versus will be back before too long. For whatever her opinion is worth.
I'm hip about the IRL thing.

I've found that you have to go beyond saying IRL and say to the uninformed about them being "Indy Cars" - "you know, the cars that race in the Indy 500". Then I usually get the uhhh....ohhh...yeah...OK.:2:

SpeedTV needs to put more racing on that channel. I went through the TV guide, and it was just car/garage shows and more stupid shows, They need to put more sprints and late model racing on SpeedTV

That's kind of what I figured out in dealing with them...when i said "Indy Cars" they somewhat knew why I was upset.

I must compliment DirecTV about something they did for me in May. On about lap 45 of the Indy 500 my local ABC affiliate had a transmission problem which kept the DirecTV customers in my market from being able to see the race... the customer service rep at DTV unlocked the ABC east coast feed for me which allowed me to watch the race without seeing the locally aired commercials. Giving a customer a national network feed is a bit of a no-no because the local advertisers don't get their commercials in your face but she understood how big a deal it was to me and helped me even though the problem was not theirs.

I have had nothing short of great service in my 5 years with DTV and I understand that Comcast bullied them out of carrying Versus.

Hopefully IZOD will help the IRL have more network overage next season so we won't be at the mercy of Comcast.
