Russ, if you watched that twice you really need to get out more. I'm concerned. Tom

How come when I resd you on 4M, you rave about the sprints and what a great show they put on but when you come here all you do is rave about how great Late Models are and what a great show they put on. Do you intentionally go out and poke hornets nest for real too? Maybe if you didnt intentionally take the antagonistic stance of a board, you wouldn't be hated by so many. |

I rave on here all the time about what great shows the NON WINGED Sprints put on. I just can NOT get into a Winged Sprint race. Last nights for example. I simply stated that I wished Friday nights feature was shown in its entirety. You are posting as someone that does not know me from Adam. If you poll the people on this board that have actually met me, you would get a COMPLETELY different story about how nice I am and how willing I am to bend over backwards to accomodate. I think you sir, are the one poking the hornets nest.
Please, name one person that TRULY hates me, and I want proof, name, address, and self addressed stamped envelope. I mean, there are more important things than messageboards. I have another child on the way in January, and I take care of my two year old son and they both mean the world to me, and that in a whole is more important than someone named USAC Fan, who out of your 44 posts, and yes i went through all of them, out of 44 posts 79% of them are negative and intended to bash someone or something. I am officially done with THIS post, if you want to continue this, my contact information is public.

Nah not really, Just having a joke here. Now I will take the underlined part. Message boards are man's modern day pissing match. We won't let things drop until we have either beaten our opposing view point holder into submission or we are threatened with being banned. Nothing i mor eimportnant than to make sure you are right and everyone in the known world knows it even if you are proven wrong. |

That track is awful anyways. Not a sprint car track, and I wouldn't be sad to see it torn down. Wing nor non-wing would put on a good show there.

I went to the world finals in Charlotte this past weekend. Turned out to be a great weekend for racing, the weather was awesome. Friday it got down to about 30, but the rest of the time it was great. The racing was about what I expected. Wed. for the topless event it was wet and tacky. The cars were flyin', and so was the mud. 2 drivers got pounded with mud and had to retire, amd another driver getting hit in the face with a broken brake rotor and is in critical condition ( Terry Cooke I think). They ended up canceling the feature on Wed. because of the condition of the track. Thurs was dry dusty for qualifying, and the makeup feature. Friday by far the best race of the weekend. Track was very fast, high 12's to low 13's for the sprints, and I think about 6 flips in the sprint feature. The LM feature had a great run my Jason Feger from IL, 19th to 2nd with 10 to go before blowing a tire. Sat. back to dry dusty for the Speed broadcast.
Overall it was worth the trip. I preordered the tickets for $59, plus got free pit passes. 3 nights of pitpasses for any race at that price is a good deal, let alone a awesome facility like LMS. We purchased tickets for the Wed show at the door, but got our money back after the feature was canceled, so actually we got 4 nights of racing for $59. Wish the racing was better, but it had its moments. I would watch non wing any day over wings or LM's but it was a good time. The Charlotte area offers alot of things to do while in town. We found a go kart facility,Victory Lane Karts, that was the best one I had been to. Indoor, electronic timing and scoring, mandatory helmet and driving suit, 9hp unlimited engine, real racing slicks, and Sodi racing chassis. Much like the one in Lawrenceburg I believe. It was a 1/3 mile track, and it took me back to the days of my racing karts on dirt and pavement back in the 90's. Loads of fun, if you are in the area check them out. |

You can complain all you want but who was on live national tv, Woo or USAC? Have you ever heard the phrase "They can't all be Classics". Heck I was just glad to watch live dirt track racing in my living room.
