What I'd like to see are transponder pickup points in about three to four places on the track, so if you get woefully out of shape, get passed by half a dozen cars, and then have the caution come out for your parts, you don't get back into the lead of a race you were well-back in at the time of the caution.
I don't agree that if your part brings out the yellow you MUST go to the rear, as I can see the chance for someone else's rough driving victimizing a car ahead of him unfairly. But when a guy on his own loses positions and parts, it feels like a punishable circumstance to me--at least insofar as him having to accept the position-loss that he earned fair-and-square.
(I'd like to presume that I'd think this even if the car in question wasn't driven by an unpopular driver...)
