ATTN: BRIAN BARNHART......
Please maintain the current oval track rules package without a single change for the next 10 YEARS!!!!!
You guys have it figured out again...great job.
When you are racing cars that are basically spec cars, the push to pass thing is completely necessary!

I was there and it was a great show. The rules changes (back to what they were and should have never been changed in the first place) have brought the racing back to what it was. I went to KY and this race and they were two of the best I have seen all year. It ranked up there with the Kamp finish in that I couldn't tell who won at the angle I was sitting...had to wait for it to flash on the board. The Indy Star said the win calculated out to 28 inches.....and that was just the 4th closest in history.
I could tell most of the people I sat around were Nascar fans (you have to buy the whole season to get Nascar tickets). I could also tell they were pretty impressed with what they saw. I GUARENTEE they don't see that kind of action when they watch stock cars there. They may like the drivers better (in a lot of cases I do too), but no way the racing is even close.

That was an unbelievable race through and through, but why did Dixon finish the race with like 8 overtake assists left? He said he was in the wrong lane to do so, but that doesn't make much sense in my book. Nonetheless, it was a fantastic race and makes me eager for the final two of the year at Motegi and Homestead. I've also heard that the IndyCar team owners have petitioned the Speedway to move the start time of the 500 back to it's traditional 11 a.m. I, for one, think that would be fantastic. It would bring back a bit of tradition, get everyone home earlier, and avoid the ever-present late afternoon thunderboomers. Congrats to Briscoe, Penske, and the Indy Racing League for a great weekend in Joliet.
P.S., Way to go Tomas Scheckter for leading a few laps on his way to a great 8th place finish!

It was a thriller! I was there. racing all over the place and fast. I'm not real happy with this directv-VS tiff though. 2 races left with the closer at Homestead and my Channel 603HD is blank as of sep. 1st. ***...both sides seem stubborn. The IRL can't be happy losing all that coverage.
