Just some fyi I grew up watching winged sprint cars because my dad raced one. I loved it, I watched the likes of chuck amati, jeff gordon, kasey kahne and to many others to list. I did not state that one was inferior to the other, I just believe that non-wing racing is much more exciting and fun to watch. The simple fact is it boils down to money. The least the WoO series runs for is 10k, which in turn is double what USAC runs for during some of the biggest races of the year(sprint week). As for the mopar million it was a one time deal, I guarantee if they had a race at eldora every year with 150k to the winner theyd be having an E main as well, and the place would be packed. I also read on speeds website that the race wouldnt be on tv tomorrow, in which case I would be killin someone if I was WoO considering they have to pay to have it covered on tv(not sure if the do for the nats tho), but if they do I wouldnt be happy. I guess I just wish the least amount of money USAC or MSCS for that matter was equal to WoO's payout, like to see the car and crowd turnouts then.

Rant on Speed is to busy guzzling the NASCAR koolaid to realize there is real racing verses the crap NASCAR tries to pawn off as racing. We get a has been (Spencer) and a never was (Wallace) or if you think about the line from Animal House: "A whimp and a blimp" blabbering on about how a driver should have done this or a driver should have done that to win. Trust me you two JA's, if what you say were true then you'd be driving the cars. But wiat, you two suck so bad no one will hire you to drive. Then after that we get Wind Tunnel where if it isn't NASCAR or a motorcycle it is relegated to the end of the show. Enough Dave. We know Junior nation will always be pissed their driver sucks, oops, gets jobbed out of wins and motorcycles give you a stiffy. Then followed by Wrecked or some other half assed "reality show" Speed has poorly put together to fill the airwaves. I'd prefer white noise as that would atleast be entertaining.Rant off

Seems to me that this whole wing/nonwing argument is a bit stupid....

It's racing....

It's sprint car racing....

It's on TV....

Who cares if the stands are full or not? Who cares if the racing is a bit of a freight train show?

The Nationals have a 50 year tradition, and they have always paid the teams the best purse...if USAC fans would turn out in the numbers seen at Knoxville over the years, they'd likely have a "national" event. And while the Oval Nationals can be seen by some as a "national" event, its purse(12K or so to win) pales when compared to Knoxville(150K to win).

Complain all that you want to, its your right... but you cannot knock the success of Knoxville and the Nationals....You can dislike the racing, but like I said...it's on TV, it's sprint car racing......And how can that be bad?

Dick, Dave said no tv coverage of it on Sunday. I am not sure where AustinSprinter got the Sunday at 7 time from.

Taped delay may work but O Friday night I will be thinking of Springfield and the Tony Bettenhausen 100 the next day.

WINGS RULE AND ALWAYS WILL.

Number 1, you don't read where someone is getting hurt every week in a winged car like they do in "NON WINGY'S" and Number 2 there wasn't any passing in the Oskaloosa race either. Hockett & Darland started on front row and thats how they finished.

Non wingys are out of controll most of the time, thats why everybody is running into each other like last night at Putnamville.
