The Rumble Series isn't just about exciting racing. It's also about having fun at the racetrack. With that in mind, Rumble Series promoter Tony Barhorst has designated Sunday, August 30th " Fan Appreciation Day" with a bevy of door prizes to be awarded to fans and race teams. Be sure to register at either the main entrance or pit gate.

Everyone in attendance will receive a certificate for a free kid's meal at Lone Star Steakhouse & Saloon (while supplies last), and kids will receive a free Wolverine or Iron Man superhero mask. The kid's meal certificates may be redeemed at the 10087 E. Washington St. location, at 1721 E. 60th St. in Anderson and at other participating Lone Star restaurants.

Here's what you can win:

-- Pit passes for two for the 12th annual "Rumble in Fort Wayne" indoor races on Saturday, Dec. 26 and Sunday, Dec. 27 at the Memorial Coliseum Expo Center in Fort Wayne, Ind.

-- A $50 gift certificate to Houlihan's Downtown, 111 W. Maryland St.

-- A $25 gift certificate to Lord Ashley's Pub & Eatery, 11703 Pendleton Pike, Oaklandon; two certificates will be awarded

-- A $45 gift certificate good at any Outback Steakhouse, awarded by the location at 2315 Post Drive, just off Post Road

-- A car wash and wax kit, valued at $50, from Pep Boys, 7201 E. Washington St.; two will be awarded

Race teams also will share in the prizes:

-- Outback Steakhouse will present the “Hungriest Driver Award,” a $25 gift certificate, to the fastest qualifier in both the TQ midget and MiniCup divisions. The award is presented by the location at 7525 U.S. Highway 31 South.

--Bugsy’s Sports Grill, 7802 Brookville Road, will present a $20 gift certificate to one team each in the MiniCup, kart and quarter midget divisions.

--. Each competing team (all classes) will receive a free 8 by 10 color photo of their car/kart on the track courtesy photographer Dave Gansert and the Rumble Series.

I dropped the idea due to the economics of it...I look forward to working with the TQ's...one of the last bastions of cars that race on dirt and pavement.
