I have had EXTENSIVE contact with the Bowman team over the past few years. No question about it, the old man can rub people the wrong way, and well, intense is a word that just does not fully describe Sean. Alex, the young man doing the driving, is the most talented driver I have seen come out of the program since my personal favorite, Ryan Kaplan. He's also a very polite and respectful young man, outside the cockpit. If Sean was YOUR Dad, you would be too...

I can't speak for what happend in quarter Midgets. I don't do that circus. But it seems to me that a lot of people learn some very valuable lessons while spending time with those little put-puts. If there were problems back in those days, it is clear to me that this is one team that learned from those experiences and moved forward in a professional manner. They are not everyone's cup of tea (what racer is?) but I am proud to have played a small part in Alex's career, and I'm willing to adimit that I actually kind of like Sean a little.

They ended up having to drive to Los Angeles every weekend to race Quarter Midgets. Then they moved to the Western States USAC Focus. I am sure USAC will not say anything, but all you need to do is contact anyone you know on the west coast. I am almost positive you will not find a kind word said.
Boy Spanky, you better not come out from under your bed until someone let's you know the (west) coast is clear:30:

I have had the pleasure of working with Alex on a few occasions and quite frankly ... Am totally impressed with him Polite, respectful, Asks way to many questions And is damned talented behind the wheel of a race car. Sean Has been great to work with and there is no doubt he is intense about what he does but really who isn't in this business? Everything we have asked from Both Alex and his dad has been met with great acceptance and understanding. I really take what an ex QM rival has to say with a grain of salt.

Just so this post will be a little about Open Wheel Racing Alex Drove the DMS car at night before the 500 and qualified 2nd quick and finished 4th in the feature, his first time there. What impressed me even more was the fact that while having the night of his life he made sure to thank both publicly and privately everyone who had a hand in the night. Great kid loads of talent ... dresses a little funny but we will deal with that IF all goes well he just might make his first National Dirt Midget start in the near future ...

Best of Luck Sean and Alex ..... And welcome to Indiana !!

Aren't internet message boards wonderful? You can hide behind some phoney-baloney "name" and talk trash about just anyone you choose to try to throw under the bus.
BTW, I think I will just take the word of Tim, Keith, Ted, etc. over the warning posted to start this thread.
