He used to run some of the big money (for those days) Saturday night shows at Lawrenceburg in the 60's. I heard that he was a very religious gent which kept him from running the Sunday afternoon USAC shows. If that be true, I'll bet Aero had him shaking his head :action-smiley-049: on occasion. :wink1:

J.J. & Damion at the Grove 2002
![]() I don't believe there were many cars turned over that night (1 or 2 Maybe) because most of the locals were at Knoxville or on the sidelines, afraid to remove the wings.

Niki Young got over in turn 3 during hot laps. Charles Davis Jr got upside down between 3&4 during Time Trials. I don't remember if anyone else got upside down or not that night.

It was the last USAC show there when a bunch of cars got tore up. 93 I think maybe- Pauch won, Dewease was second from way back in the 461. Darland was leading in the Hoffman car and dumped it in 1 and 2 on a restart. Marvel got hurt in a double flip with Cris Eash, Heydenreich dumped it. It was still a great show. That was also a good one when the Demon won the SCRA show- he was wide open right around the top. See you guys in June!! :applaud:

That will be a great week. I talked to my brother Russ last night and he is going to try to make it, if only for a couple of the races. He's a life long stock car fan and I got to try to convert him!:emote20:

Per Taz70739 the Eastern Tour shapes up thusly; Tuesday, June 3 Grandview, Wednesday, June 4 Williams Grove, Thursday, June 5 Big Diamond. All three of these shows are USAC sprints & ARDC midgets. Friday is a night off for USAC but I would suggest a return to the Grove for the $4000 to win URC show and regular 410 sprints. The tour concludes again at Hagerstown on Saturday, June 7 sans midgets.

If thats the Eastern swing I think I;ll hit the first 3,then head back to Indiana for Friday night, and I am guessing that Little Belleville will be running midgets that Saturday night, and thats where I'll be.
