Jack Gunn had it right 40 years ago, Sprint Cars or Super Sprints. What's so hard about that?????????

That was then. This is now. I think saying "USAC Sprints" says it all really.

My new job takes me all over this wonderful country and when I have time to talk racing with the locals, EVERYONE is interested in seeing the "sprint cars that don't have wings like the ones they race in Indiana". Most recently I was in South Carolina, what I consider to be the hot bed of stock car country, and the folks there were more familiar with (traditional, non-wing, USAC) Sprint Cars than the people in Dayton, Ohio were last fall.

This form of racing is special and needs to be preserved, promoted and expanded. I am at a loss like the rest of you on how to accomplish that, especially in todays tough economic times.

these cars are sprint cars then you have winged sprint cars ,end of story

The problem with this, IMO, is that it suggests
that the "super" sprinters are somehow superior to regular sprinters ala The SUPERbowl. My vote goes sprinters and winged sprinters.
