Hang in there Lloyd. That is good news for the time being for you. Id tell you to take every available dollar and invest in stock but thats not working too well either.

Chuck, noticed many many dealers around here closing shop or just plain not doing any buisness.

Glad to hear the good news Lloyd.

Doesn't Palmer Dodge employ a couple of racers?

Shadeland Dodge is not much of a surprise, really small show lot and probably less than a mile from a pretty good size Dodge dealer.

Lloyd, had news been bad could you have gotten a job driving a (short) bus?

I guess I am missing something here. Help me.

How does closing dealerships save Chrysler money? Chrysler makes the cars and sells them to the dealer and the dealer sells the cars to their customers. Where is the gain for Chrysler unless they own part of the dealerships or support them in some way.

I do not get it.

I was just going to post the same thing. There was just a dealer on the TV. He said he pays his own business expenses, salaries, taxes, pays Chrysler for the vehicle as soon as he receives it, so where is the cost savings to Chrysler? It seems like it will make it harder for some people to buy a Chrysler product.

Don, maybe it has something to do with dealers competing with each other, lowering the prices through dealer "incentives". You know how they advertise, "high volume dealer guarantees the lowest price, why pay more". By limiting where you can buy a Chrysler maybe the dealers will stand to make more per car, then Chrysler won't have to offer these money back and employee pricing deals. Or they are just making room for the Fiat dealerships.
Read today that GM will be closing over 1000 Dealerships.
