Found the link below over at the TF forum. If you like roadsters you'll drool over these photos. It's rare to see them in color. Awesome stuff! :respect:

Mag problems? Fuel pump? All of the main Driver complaints when they just couldnt get it done? Do We believe the car owner or the driver? These types of communications problems go way back to when the cars werent half as reliable as they are today. To funny. aXe |

Axe, if you read the Vogler book, he had problems with the car also. The car we are talking about is Seb's sprint car, not an Indy car. As far as the records , the USAC office should have the results under Seb's name.

Hey back then it was almost always the owner saying the dirver laid down and the Driver saying it was a **** box. That was the point I made. lots of truth in both cases at times. biggest problem I remember and no one I know of could put it to rest,Thats was magneto problems, that when tested after the races were found to not have any problems??? But in most cases even a deaf person could hear those engines skipping!
Duke, You take things way to easy to Heart and then start with the loud posts,(caps lock)Then wonder why so many here give you a hard time. Hey I saw You race more than once and You looked to be able to carry Yourself with pride in the cars I saw You in. Lose the caps lock response and most of the flak You get here will probably go away. aXe |

There may be alot of things you can say about Duke, but to say he was a ballon-foot would not be one of them. I would say it was more of a case of a guy who was willing to run any and everything and some of the bad habits you get from running lesser quality cars combined with an extreme desire; gets alot of guys in trouble.
Pulling his chain to get a rise is one thing, but saying he didn't gas it is something else. If anything; he gassed it too hard.

Scotty, I gotta agree with you, I feel Duke is due some respect, anyone who would put his feet in any of the cars he drove, and of that era, and of this era in fact, deserves a little respect, watching is one thing, doing is another, and I just don't feel like this is the place to, as you say, jerk someone around, if you don't have anything nice to say about him, or anyone else for that matter, keep it to yourself, and when you meet face to face, say it then, if you feel froggy!
