Also look at dpreveiw.com and don't rule out a Canon if you are looking for a DSLR as opposed to a point and shoot. You have zealots for Nikon and for Canon but if you believe its the lens that makes the shots and not the camera I think its fair to say you still see more sports shooters with white lenses. Those would be Canon. If that Roberts shop they are talking about is a local full service camera store go to them and save yourself endless research and reading.

Walls, if you only plan on using new lenses, that is okay, but if you ever get the older lenses then that camera wont work. I have an old and new lense for my camera, but mine is before they made the d60 or news (I got a d70s). One thing is that older lenses are cheaper and work just as well as the new ones in most cases.

Just my .02 I just got a Canon Xs its very easy to use. I got one heck of a deal on my Canon body 18x55 lense & 75x300 zoom for 500 BUCKS!! Just something to think about is all if price is a concern?!?!?
