Sandy,

I went to Outlaw Speedway. It was off 67 in Fortville, behind a business. It was supposed to be a day show. No water truck, was so dusty they called it. It had a dogleg in the backstretch, and 2x12's for guardrail.

When I saw the pictures the first thing I noticed was the wooden guardrail. It didn't seem to safe to me.

In 1981 UMRA did run a complete program there. I'll post who won the feature tonight when I get home.

Outlaw Speedway was on the property that is now Ted Slinkard's Main Street Automotive. This is about 1/4 mile from Dayton Ent.

The date at the Indy Coliseum was on 3/11/73 so I would assume that to be an indoor race at the Pepsi Coliseum?
I was at that race at the Indianapolis Coliseum on 3/11/73. It was a really warm day and they opened the doors frequently to vent the fumes. I remember a driver of rather advanced age named Tommy Gray. I believe that he had had a leg removed because of diabetic complications. Perhaps someone out there will confirm whether I am correct on this.
I remember going to a USAC sprint car race at Salem the next Sunday, 3/18/73. It was about as cold as I have ever been at a race track.
