haha, no i was there also. im was 22 at the time, had to help all the AARP members find their seats.. JK.. dont throw me under the buss for that!! Was a great show.. Clayton bounced off everything on the track, atleast 2x a show.. And the wild ride that Charles Davis Jr took! Also Im sure its been posted, but has anyone seen roger rager pick up the front of a sprint? im not talking about 1 or two inches off the ground, he can bring it up to waste height!! I just dont hope he reads the AARP remarks!!

You know I remember seeing Roger Rager do that too. He was so cool. He was one guy I wanted to see win the Indy 500!

I remember being at the TNT shows at East Bay and I wasn't 70 (yet). First year lots of cars, including some from the west coast, but not a lot of spectators. Next year, fewer cars and hardly any spectators. IIRC, Charles Davis took out a big signboard with his crash. I think that was the first time I saw Arin McIntosh run. She was in Briscoe's car. Also, I believe the debut of Stanbrough in the #53. I reckon they like the wings down here, and all tintops go over well. At Citrus County they run 6 or 7 differrent classes of them. Big crowd at Ocala but not much racing. You need to start on the front row to win. About the only passing was the leaders blowing off the back markers. I thought the best race Friday night was between Kenny Wallace and the local hotshoe in the UMP mods.

This year East Bay didn't even bother to announce the sprint races on their sign board on Route 41 at the road into the track. Talk about lack of promotion. Thursday was rained out. Friday's crowd was pitiful and Saturday the smallest I have seen in my 6 years of going down. The race was downgraded from ASCS National to ASCS Rebel region status this year, so defending champ Jason Johnson and some of the other top runners weren't there. East Bay's promotion is about as good as that for the Springfield Mile. If you are not a fan who searches out information about races, you probably will never know a race is taking place. Much has been said in the racing media about the need to promote in these difficult times with lots of sports options available to fans, but the message doesn't seem to be getting through to a lot of so-called promoters. We have the most exciting sport in the country. I just don't believe that good promotion can't sell it, but you have to do more than print tickets and open the gates.

Tri State Speedway advertises all thier shows per radio and television during the race season and you've surely seen their great big sign out front with up coming events on it. Its no wonder Tommy got Promoter of the year. They pack the stands no matter what else is going on in Evansville.:thumb

Goes to show ya Race fans are the BEST!!!
