I believe Rich Leavell was Virgil Welch's son-in-law. He also was USAC rookie of the year in the car somewhere around 1970.

Yes he is Virgil's son in law and was rookie of the year but I am not sure what year it was. He is still driving a truck and doing well.

I believe Gene Rogers drove Virgs midget before Jim...that goes back a long way!!

The correct spelling is Johnny Pawl, not Paul. Mr Pawl was very instrumental in the heyday of midget racing from 1946 until the early fifties. He headquartered out of Crown Point, Indiana and was a Kurtis dealer.
