Is there any topic on this board that you are not an “expert” on? I’ve never seen anybody that posts more and knows less than you do. Yet again you spout off at the mouth without having facts. I didn’t know you were a Ball State spokesman. Seems odd that they would name a building after somebody they think little of.

Before the do not bash card is played... You call somebody a piece of crap, you deserve whatever you get. You might want to look in the mirror if you are going to call people that. Like him or not, that’s uncalled for.

Well stated. I personally enjoy Letterman's humor and its nice to see that most of the people in his home state recognize him for his contributions to Ball State. He recently mentioned the Ball State football team's winning record on his late night show.

Im not gonna deny any of that and all I can do is apologize. My source attended in the late 80's and said that they booed him off the stage on one of his visits. Obviously things have changed.

You might not want to base your opinion of people on what others say they are like. I usually base mine on what I think. I hardly think describing somebody as a piece of crap because of what you described makes sense. Getting booed off a stage (which I believe about 0% of) makes them bad? To each his own I guess.

I’m pretty sure your “source” is full of crap though. Kind of like when you put the “expert” hat on which is far too often IMO. That I do know. It's OK to back away from the keyboard once in while.

I didn't base my opinion of him on that. I based that on thirty years of watching someone make a killing being basically mean and degrading to people.

I've never claimed to be a expert at anything and I do apologize for posting that here. Your right, Im wrong. I should have left that as well as many other things alone.

Sorry Kevin if I made you mad. Im sure your not the only one but the poster in front of me in this thread basically said the same thing without the insult.

I love the guy's humor. Always have, always will.
But, he still needs to strap his butt into a sprint car and take a few laps at Eldora and Winchester.

A final thought, even if he had not made all of the financial contributions, what is the value of having your university mentioned -- repeatedly -- on a nationally broadcast television program. Very few people visiting this board could pay the advertising bill for the time he has donated just mentionin Ball State's name.

As Sarah Palin would say, I don't know what that means. :O:
Anyway, David Letterman's sense of humor won me over years ago when, as a local Indianapolis weatherman, he congratulated a tropical storm for becoming a hurricane. As someone else stated earlier, regarding his style of humor, you either get it or you don't.
