And I think this team is powered by Ford motors. TMez teamed up with Kevin Briscoe as his crew chief, that just made your Indiana Sprint Week tickets worth a little bit more.

" Purple 73 ". You have a good memory. USAC / CRA ran here before Indiana Sprint Week started. If ISW did in fact start in '88 , the USAC / CRA Challenge Series was formed in 1984.They only ran 2 shows that year , both out west.. Manzanita and Ascot Park.
In 1985 they expanded the schedule to 11 events. 5 to be run out west and 6 through the Midwest and Southern plains. They ran Eldora, Lincoln Park, Terre Haute. Then 81 Speedway in Witchita, Devils Bowl in TX, and 2 tracks in Oklahoma. Not sure how the total of 11 races were tallied ? Eldora was a 2 day show and they ran 6 more tracks? Sounds like 8 to me with 5 ran out west ?
I knew something didn't sound right about the timeline - '88 ISW and the USAC /CRA shows. I have videos of the ' 85 Terre Haute show plus a killer pic of west coast hot shoe Eddie Wirth - Terre Haute 1985.

Remember racing at Farmer City night after Terre Haute. Remember meeting Mr. Peacock.
I was at both of those races if that was the year their was about 58 cars at THAT and Troy Rutherford was in a Kunz car and passed like 60 plus cars. He ran the non qualifiers race, the heat, the B main and the feature.
Can't wait for next week!!!!! As much as i love the Big Block Modifieds here in NY, which is what i get to see every Friday and Saturday. Their is nothing better than the USAC Sprints. We are staying in Kokomo on Friday and Saturday, where is the best breakfast in Kokomo?
