WOW the bad part is USAC will be lowering the membership fees along with lower the insurance fees plus atleast they will be listening to the members. QMA well who knows I've called all week long from 6am to 12 midnight and can't get an answer as usual. If you would like to try feel free here's the # (443)386-9296 also the bad part is I've tried that # along with another # and get the same thing. If you would like that # let me know!!!

Yes we had the meeting today and everything went real good. At the end of the meeting we asked to take a vote. Do you want USAC yes, no, or I don't know yet.

Everyone showed there hands to the Yes vote except 2 and they were I don't know. So all and all the vote will be next Saturday and looks like we will be going to USAC for the 2009 season!!!!!!!:checkered:

WOW!! Melmo maybe you and your fellow cars owners should meet with USAC's Silver Crown car owners before next Saturdays vote. Especially talk to the new generation car owners.

The children's best interest is what matters.

What is a quarter midget? Is that a picture of one in Melmo's post? Do they have a suspension or are they just "Cage Carts"? I don't know anything about them so whatever help you guys can give me would be appreciated.
My 10 year old son is wanting to start racing go carts and I don't know where to start him out at.
Thanks.....

Well Patti I agree. If you something we don't know you should spit it out and let us here it. That's what were waiting for. We have 60 some members and I only have one vote. Believe me I voiced several and as it stands this is where our club is. But like you said The children's best interest is what matters. So in my book if you stay tight lipped and stay nothing then looks like The children's best interest is what matters is not in you game plan!!!

What would be real nice would be if some of the parents along with some of the Drivers that has been through the Quarter Midget rankings step up and let us hear there thoughts on this deal. I think that would help out a lot.

So come Parents and Drivers step up and help us out!!! This could be a deal where you will be back to Quarter Midget racing with grandkids and kids of your own!!!

Also I would like to make a note about one deal with the kids safety that really pisses me off is the deal with the kids leaning out of the cars to far. There have been several racing crashes this year and one at the Kokomo Regional that could really hurt one of kids real bad and QMA has nothing to say about it.

Several RCP's have been sent in about this and to my understanding they have been shot down or as QMA does when they don't want to hear about it will as they put go on to the table and as you and I know once it goes on to the table its never talked about again until another RCP is sent in.

Also have any of you seen some of the helmets this year after one of those crashes where the helmet is cracked and so on.

So all in all is QMA just going to set back until one of these kids get hurt real bad!!! It don't look like it!!!

Most TQ and Micro clubs are run by volunteers; USAC will collect all kinds of fees, and have way too many paid personnel working the kids' ranks. and in all likelihood, not listen to advice from those who've been supporting TQ's
While most clubs are run by volunteers there are still fees involved in QMA today. National membership, club membership and the weekly sign-in fees come to mind.

Quarter Midget Racing as an orgainization needs help.....hopefully USAC can provide that help.

My son has raced QMs for the past 4 years at Mini-Indy. We have enjoyed the experience but sometimes I have to laugh (or cry) when I see some of the crap that goes on from a national level.

QMA needs an over-haul but no one has been willing to do it. My guess is that is why some of the clubs approached USAC about getting involved.

When you have handlers spending $5K on motors for little kid cars you have to sit back and wonder about their priorities.

Next Saturday we will run our last QM race and turn our attention full time to the Mini-Sprint next season. There are many things I will miss about it.....the racing, the folks at Mini-Indy (well...most of them :wink), etc.

I will not miss the stupidity that is national QMA.
