There are plenty of good seats at Lawrenceburg Speedway even with a very nice Sprint week crowd. I really don't see how this is an issue.

There are plenty of things to complain about, but seating shouldn't be one of them at The Burg.

Well I guess from now on I am going to roll in at the last minute walk up to the top row and sit down on the empty blanket. No one is going to use it anyways right?

We would definitely have a conversation about this. Sometimes I use hot laps as a chance to check out the souvenir stands or just sit some where out of the heat. I would also be upset if anyone pulled my blanket up during the heat races. Typically I am always there foe heat races. However last year at Lawrenceburg I was sitting under the grandstands during the heats with my pregnant wife. It was just way to hot for her in the stands. However once it cooled off some we were able to return to our seats and enjoy the race. I dont think anyone should take more space than what they need but you need to take into consideration people's situation before you start ripping up their blankets.

My point is that tracks need reserve seating for big shows like ISW. You pay for a specific seat and its your when ever you want to use it, no issues. But when people take/block more seats than they need, or will use, its potentially taking a spot from a paying customer. I don't see how anyone can justify paying for a single ticket and blocking 3-4 spots.

Sometimes I see that and its the drivers wife or girlfriends that are down selling shirts that come up to watch their guy race, which I get and understand because they need to make a living and yet wanna see their person race. Like one person said, I have traveled with people with handicaps too and cant sit there from the time the gates open to the end and come up late. BOTH very valid reasons and why they should be left alone

The problem is people reserving to many seats. I saw many places where people put down a blanket for 5-6 people and only 2-3 people sat there.

I've seen this abused to the max at a couple tracks here back east. A group of 4 sit in the same area weekly at this track and use seats for their coolers and also block off about 8 seat in the row in front of them. So these 4 take up the top two rows and hog up 16 good seats.

I've also seen drivers family's hold a couple extra seats so the driver can come up to the stands and spend some time with the family during a race program.

One example I believe is OK and the other is way not cool. Problem is you can't always tell what's going on until the night moves along.

Sooner or later, that will either get you thrown out of the track or over the top of the grandstands.

I am much more well known for photography but have videos of hundreds of sprint car races. To do this, I have to arrive early and get a spot in the top row (so I do not to block others). If someone is around, I'll tell them "use all this room if you'd like, you'll see me at feature time."

Lots of people know me and will "watch out" for my spot. I am there to enjoy myself just like anyone else, but I'm a member of the media that is there for a reason. Rip up my blanket and they will probably get at you before I do. And if they don't, being a media member means I know almost all the track owners, and I'll at least attempt to get you thrown out. If that doesn't work, have you ever been around a p'd off media member?

I'll add, my view is blankets should not be put down before the gates open.
