I thought he explained it pretty well; everybody runs the full program, except "at some point" the D2's race a special shootout...like a "dash for cash"
I would imagine this would be after the heats, but before the B's? That's where most tracks run dashes, kings-of-the-hill, etc.

4 or 5 laps? What is cash or just big dust collector? If we got lucky and transferred into the Main why run the Shootout and tear the car up for a trophy???

That I couldn't say, maybe it's TBD, like the USAC rules package. Being that Zonker Version 1.1 is gonna be more like a D1-1/2 I should just sit back and enjoy the show...
Brian's usually pretty good at getting things figured out.

From the original posting:
"Final details are being completed regarding rules, USAC memberships, points series, and purses"
I think things are in pretty good hands with Greg Watson being involved; what is it Aaron Rogers said last year? "R-E-L-A-X...."

Jim

You remind me of Cpt Kirk "Bravely going>>>>>>>>>>>>>>"

When the Mini Sprint guys find out how fun this type of racing is you guys will have cars parked in the infield as well as the back 40 guest pits. You guys just need to remember that some of these D2 cars can carry themselves pretty good against their big brothers.

The races at Montpelier Motor Speedway will offer a "USAC Shootout" for all cars that qualify under USAC Midwest Thunder Midget rules. The plan is to run the Shootout following all B-mains (Montpelier runs the midget B-main first, and typically has several other B-mains for modified and stock cars) and before the intermission. This will leave time for teams to prepare for the Shootout if they participated in the B, and all Shootout participants will have time during intermission to prepare for the A if they have qualified. Participants in the Shootout will receive USAC points (if a USAC member), and top finishers will be eligible to receive cash bonuses. Montpelier has generously agreed to contribute to these bonuses, and the Series is currently soliciting sponsors to increase the payout, which will be announced in the future. Keep in mind these bonuses are in addition to any A-main purse or tow money earned by the participant and paid by the Speedway.

USAC Midwest Thunder Midget Races at Waynesfield Raceway Park will utilize a standard format of heats/B-main/A-main.
