Maybe a famous USAC fine? and he could buy headsets and shirts for USAC....maybe it's time for some drug screening too..when someones actions are outrageous,maybe it's a call for help...understand I DON"T KNOW,it appears to be very bad judgement or someone in trouble...

It's OK in my mind, to have a few beers, and to have a little fun...But there is a wide chasm bertween a little fun, as opposed to trashing a rental car and doing something that, IMO, is in poor judgment and pretty stupid....That's way over any edge im my book. And he's so far from PC here that he can't even see it, IMO.

So your approval if his actions makes me wonder about your values, too...But it's your right, too....just be glad that someone doesn't crash your car and wreck your property......

I just don't find it to be a big deal. No one was hurt. I do feel bad for the guy who lost a chunk of his Labor Day to the trash cleanup, but didn't I read on the other thread that it may have been Gardner's entourage that spilled the trash?

Poor judgement, stupid; those are your labels for what happened. They may not be everyone else's. I think you are right on about it being a long way from PC, though. And I'm glad it wasn't PC, because racing and the world in general need more of that, in my opinion.

I appreciated his hard chargin laps myself but the problem is that Calistoga speedway is in the Napa Valley, the culture in Napa valley is much different than what you get at most tracks in the Midwest or even California. That culture is part of what gives the track its prestigious feel but Calistoga does not appreciate crazy partying & drunk driving. The track itself is right in the middle of town surrounded by neighbors who would rather see it gone. From what I am told the track has been on the verge of disappearing for a long time. The fair grounds took a chance on USAC and USAC made sure that we all knew that this event may or may not happen again and that our actions would have a lot to do with it.

Calistoga will not let the world of outlaw's go back there. I don’t know why but I am told it was because of the late night partying. It was the first time non-wingers had run there in 20+years and hopefully not the last.

I loved the rental car racing; it was even free to get into the stands. But everyone also new that this was not the best place to be doing it.

Your sugesting more than Clayton were involved ,I don't expect anyone to squeal but if it wasn't just one guy acting a fool,he shouldn't take the rap for the whole group...and where was security ,I promise you this wouldn't happen at Perris during the Ovals

It happened last year at the ovals,a couple of P.T Crusiers racing around the track at a high rate of speed after Sat. night races.I also remember the year before of somebody dumping all the trash cans out in the camp grounds.I will not mention names.:thumbsdown:

This kind of stuff has been happening for years,I'm not saying I agree with it, but I can definitely recall many stories in my 29yrs. of working on race cars about racers tearing up rental cars and other incidents involving mischief.:kookoo

I also read where someone stated that the 71 entourage was the cause of the overturned trash cans.:thumbsdown:
