No offense Kieth, but paragon still has the '76 bleachers, restrooms, lighting, and track equipment. Sometimes a little change isn't all bad. But still a great place to watch a race and have some fun, just a little updating could really help your crowd turnout. Not bashing jmo.

Still living in the sixties .........part of the problem with most things ....Oh things were so good way back when .......that's all I hear .......
Well That's Bull$$$$ and you know it ......get with the program change is good at times . Everyone on here complains when someone comes up with something new or different , quit your complaining and become part of the solution not part of the problem .....just because it's different doesn't mean that it wont work , you need to be a believer not a complainer .......so get with the program , if your not a supporter of something that just might work just keep your negative mouth shut .!!!!!!!!!

No offense Steinway, But some would call that heaven, the way it should be, Run what ya brung on a track you can't flatfoot, Racin to have fun with family and friends. Not necessarily the best of everything you can buy. Even a car running there built entirely from scratch. Its modern but looks early 70s

Fans picnicking on the hillside in lawn chairs.
Memorabilia and pictures in the gift shop of racers when I was a kid.

I love both.

I loved the place the from the first time I visited. Of course there's few tracks I dislike

It's pretty simple ....self starting cars speed the show up .....no push vehicles ...don't even need a 4 wheeler in the pit's.
They advertise ready built cars for around 12-14 k I believe .
I'm sure they are used rollers refurbished ,602 crate motors are cheap , and the trans and bellhousing that they use is not that expensive .
Even if you used all new parts you prolly wouldn't spend 20k ...but there are so many used couple year old rollers out there why would you ....

No offense taken Charles, I have been there numerous times and it is a great track but I know several people that wont go due to lack of facilities. Mostly the wives don't like the restrooms. I know in the pits there isn't any sinks to wash hands if needed, not the biggest issue but several of the women really don't like it. I like Kieth but really feel the track would benefit from some updating. Lighting and a little quicker response from the wrecker, and a proper ambulance svc on sight at all times. The racing is usually great, no complaints there and it is a great place for a guy on a little less of a budget to be able to run. Some of these items are requirements to a lot of racers these days, you have to cater to the needs of families and fans to get them to stay interested. The only real complaint I have had over the years is the last checker needs to fly by 11pm. getting home at 2-4 am is no longer a viable option to most people.

must be doing something right, he gets more cars week in and week out than any track in Indiana, sometimes bigger isn't better

Push starting the cars is not part of the show. So you do know the answer. If you buy a
used roller all you will need is a motor and your ready to go?

They had a self starting sprint car class around Missouri and Kansas for a few years. They didn't last and now they push start them around here the traditional way.

A well run track with on the ball push trucks and safety crew really doesn't take much longer than watching the self starting cars try and try to get it to fire after a spin till someone realized maybe they should send a push truck.

Not to mention how they can never get them to start until the yellow flies then suddenly they fire right up and rush to the work area.
Want to speed the show? Add some laps to the feature on the self starting classes but count yellow flag laps. (but you would have to be willing to send aggressive drivers to the back, put them a lap down, or start using the black flag)

And push starting doesn't have to be part of the show ...get into the present day ...it's not 1956 anymore ........This is a budget wingless class self starting ..easy on the pocket book and Fun ........educate yourself before you open your mouth .....typical of the idiots on here ....
