Steve Lewis screwed DD over once before by orders of Ford wanting a younger more marketable driver. I smell Toyota all over this deal too.
Dave can do better than the 9 team anyway.
Calling Tony Stewart. Put Dave in a car.

Dave was booted from the 9 car a few years ago and still won races. Would be cool to see him run the rest of the dirt races with Kunz. I'll never forget his drive at the 4-Crown in 2004 for Keith. Dave was at one time half a lap ahead.

Not much time for ride hunting though with the USAC shows this weekend at Sun Prairie. Any ideas what might be in store for DD?

It is indeed true that Dave and the #9 team has parted ways. Dave feels that this is in the best interest of himself and the team. As for midget races scheduled for the rest of the season, Dave has recieved quite a few calls from teams interested in his driving for them but has not had the time to make a definiate decision. As for now, Dave will be racing in the midget races that he has time for and will continue to pursue the Silver Crown Championship and continue to run as many sprint car races that he can for Scott Benic (2B team) and Rick Daugherty (Peterbilt). Thanks for all of the concerns but Dave definately feels that this decision was best for all concerned! Cya all at the races!!!

I think this is a good thing for Dave, and I wish Darren good luck dragging that Toyota anchor around.
