Thank u for the link! Loved it! I sometimes wondered what became of "the voice of racing"...

That line is there so that the fans in the grandstands can see the numbers on the side of the bikes. When the bikes are running right against the wall, you can barely see them and the numbers are not visible. It is a good idea to be able to know who is who.
