So how does that work when drivers run in a car other than their team car? Does Stanbrough (for example) give a call out to other team owners to see if he can run in their car? Is it whoever offers up the most money who gets the ride? Always wondered how those deals are made. Anyone out there with any insight? Thanks!

I would think there are no hard fast rules on this. There are as many ways to make a deal as there are cars and drivers.

Any idea why only 26 sprint cars??

Is there a problem?

Do the drivers not like the track?

Less interest in running for track champion -- too many weeks with special shows?

Just wondered -- Burg always would get 35 - 40 sprint cars on a sat night...

didn't gas city have right at 50 cars last night?

Enquiring minds would like to know...

I don't think there is any problem at all. I would bet that most of the Traveling teams are taking a break this weekend after a hard 2 weeks of ISW. I think the reason Gas City got the car count they did was because of the Purse. Last night was there mid season doubler which paid $2800 instead of the normal $1400. I know that the majority of the cars at Gas City last night were the locals that run there during the weekly races that did not run last week during sprint week. Also, I would think that most of those traveling teams I mentioned are getting ready for a few of the big races that are coming up in the next couple of weeks. Haubstadt is having the big $10,000 to win race next Saturday and then the Big $30,000 Race in Iowa is just around the corner.

Another reason was Paragon was having a pretty decent payout all the way through the field and it is a lot more centrilized for most of the local racers compared to Lawrenceburg. JMO :thumb

It is sad when pragon has 52 sprint cars the burg only gets 26. Just think if there was a usac or mscs how many cars would they have then. Lawrenceburg is a great track but it is alot harder on motors than your old short track .look at the cars at pragon some of the old burg regular drivers are there broc burton dickie gaines . Just to name a few.
