Best to Shane both days. The best food in the state is right across the street from the grandstands. Everything at the beef or pork stand is locally produced and served by the producers. This was my first USAC race over 40 years ago and I still remember seeing Unser and Foyt and Andretti and Granitelli and all the others out there on the front straight like it was yesterday. The best of America is USAC at the Illinois state fair.
Hopefully there will be a good turnout this Saturday. It's still up in the air if I can make it or not. I've got to follow the doctors schedule and this Saturday was spoken for a couple of months ago specifically for me. Got to do what you have got to do.
Everyone at Lincoln and Macon wants to welcome everyone Friday August 16th to Lincoln Speedway and Saturday August 17th to Macon Speedway for the powrI midget show's.
Those of us who live in and around Springfield know how unusual this is. Krista Lander, head of the WICS Channel 20 sports department, had a feature this evening on Saturday's Silver Crown race, including an interview with last year's winner, A. J. Fike. I don't remember the last time there was actual coverage before the race, and that after the race is usually pretty slim. She even mentioned the ARCA race. I encourage those of you who live in and around Springfield to join me in emailing Channel 20 to thank them for the story. Perhaps a response will encourage them to cover a little more racing.

Their Facebook page is looking for fun pictures of the state fair. Someone posted a picture of the trophy that AJ won last year. Maybe we should bombard their Facebook page with pics from the Silver Crown. It can't hurt getting pics of the cars out there for people to see.
