I would love to build a street legal, 4wd sprint car somewhat like one of the Carmichaels did.



Though a street legal sprint car would be awesome to drive to and from work in summer though.

Any idea how you are going to turn that thing with that solid axle quick change rear end with open tubes.

The easiest thing to do would be to make a wheel center with bearings for one rear wheel and make it one wheel drive. A Champ car clutch would allow the use of a torque tube driveline and retain sprint style birdcages, brakes etc.

I've heard about guys using a 9" ford and a powerglide as mentioned but it would be cool to stick with the old SC setup with a clutch and shifter in the car. I'd be curious to see how it'd drive on uneven city streets with a solid front axle. I'd think things like bump steer would be an issue. An asphalt car with oil overs would also help with the ride
