That crowd makes a USAC race look like the size of a Kings Royal crowd! Just wondering about insurance on something like this. Is it more, less or the same as a night of open wheel racing? Also looks like some fence needed fixing to on the front stretch.

And guess who sanctions the TORC Series, that's right, USAC.

No doubt there will be remnants of the event left on the track surface. You can't pile dirt on dirt and expect to get it perfectly removed. But, I guess we'll see.

I watched the event on Saturday night, racing was boring all night, even in their "premier class" with under 20 trucks. Pathetic really, that USAC will broadcast this crap LIVE on TV when there are USAC Sprints racing at the same time at one of the most exiting tracks on the schedule.

Really too bad to see them put so much money into something other than the "big three" (Sprints, Midgets, Silver Crown). It was different when the extra classes were stock cars, or super modifieds, or even Formula Ford.

TRAXXAS...it's not USAC buying the time for TV ...it's the sponsors...and as far as the track they had it hard packed for the most
part...and it wasn't like they were using junk dirt/clay for the jumps...guess time will tell...

The torc series is basically the marketing program of traxxas. The Jenkins brothers use the series to race in and to promote their business. They own traxxas. It is highly unlikely that usac can get a deal like this for ovalstuff. The best option is Lucas oil. They have their own production company. Oh and they sponsor the California short course series. That is why the California series is on speed and other channels.

Not sure that the dirt was temporary or to be spread out as part of track surfacing. We'll find out I suppose as they have a family weekend with Mods and stocks.

Don't most tracks rip the surface to work water into the track when they do their weekly prep? Shouldn't they be able to level things out, even if all of the dirt brought in for the trucks was left on site? It's not like they put speed bumps in an asphalt parking lot. Good grief...
