Are you on facebook Andrew? If so, you need to friend Jarrett Kramer. He has a really fast car in the lightning sprint series that I believe is for sale. I'm sure he would work with you on setups and stuff. They have a pretty solid group out there with many of the past champions now running full sprinters out at Perris.

Mini sprints by far more affordable. A 360 sprint car is more affordable than a midget. Being in So Cal there is not much racing for midgets so you will need to travel which will add significantly to the costs. Ventura and Orange Show (San Bernardino) are the only two tracks that run midgets but the number of race dates are very limited which means you would need to travel to central and northern cali to get more races.

You are better off running mini sprints and then going to a sprint car.

Mini Sprint would prob be the best way to start out ,you can run & maintain it yourself & about as a affordable car as race cars go , around you try contacting Bobby Michnowicz/Timeless Ent. , they are or were close to long beach or Dan Hilberg I think he runs California Lightning Sprints , they might be resources for you if you go that route

If your going to Ventura, look up Tom Hendricks (Snap-On 14k). He has been at this for a few years and could be a good source of information on West Coast sprint cars.
