I have a USAC vs NCRA Dirt Champ Challenge t-shirt kicking around here somewhere. From 1985-86 or so.

Not likely to ever happen. Besides, according to the reseident "experts" the Silver Crown series is dying off and of not significant interest to anyone who would want to take a chance and host them. Also to many of those same "experts", USAC is the only series who can provide what the Silver Crown cars need for properly running the show. Using those tired old excuses one could ask why anyone would want to ever do such a thing?

It sounds like many silver crown cars are out there? In theory would a non sactioned race that paid the same purse even bring those cars out?

This makes the question a little more interesting. Be interesting to see what people think. All I know is, if you did say you'd do that, people would say they'd show, and wouldn't. Be hard to tell what the car count would be.

I know a lot of people SAY they'd like to see someone else run this series, but how many of them would REALLY follow it if happened?

It didn't work too well when tried before, remember PRA?

There was the PRA on pavement when USAC fell for the NASCAR Silver Crown Pavement car. Maybe it's time for the PRA to return.....

Right-O. The PRA. If I remember correctly, they ran at Berlin that one year up here. As you said, they were a direct result of USAC jumping in bed with NASCAR - a move that the Silver Crown Series has yet to recover from IMO as a fan.

PRA was tried on pavement for one year and then USAC hired the guys who started it! I think a dirt series could definately work if done right on 1/2 miles and hopefully a couple on well prepared miles with a cushion!!!
