When I first started attending USAC sprint races, they ran both surfaces with the same cars. They decided (~1980?) to allow points to be totalled from a dirt car and a pavement car. This required serious point chasers to have two cars, and a number of owners simply quit running the full circuit.

I don't believe the Western States pavements cars are 410's. I believe they run a 360 motor.

I think the best shot would be to go to Salem, maybe they could make that their Sprint-Midget double header weekend. They couldd run at Bloomington of Friday, Salem on Saturday and Tri-State on Sunday. Tri-State used to run Sunday so this is not a major change.

If it works it could make ISW more exciting. If it does not work, it would be an interesting experiment.
What would be wrong with Anderson?

up - up - down - down - left - right - left - right - b - a - select - start

Anderson could work also if they did away with double headers at The 'Burg and Gas City.

They could do The 'Burg on Thursday, Gas City Friday and Anderson on Saturday and then on to Kokomo.

I think the experiment should be, throw a asphault race in there but you have to run your dirt car!

CRA tried this years ago! During there Bakerfield winter time shows! About 1990. The rich had pavement cars! The no, nobodies ran there dirt cars! Is this fair?:applaud:

USAC WEST does have only 360's. PPIR track they both raced each other at a USAC pavement car race. The 410's with plates against the West 360's. I can say the weakest 410 out ran only one, very high buck west coast 360! That 360 didn't finish the 25 miles!
