I worked for Donnie in the summer of '88 putting in swimming pools. It was a horribly hot summer, and it was hard work. We had a crew of characters, which made it fun, and Donnie was good to work for. It was the year after Springfield closed and Donnie was wheeling a sprinter at Jacksonville most weekends. He was winning quite a bit, too. I always enjoyed watching his career after that. I wish he could have won the Bettenhausen once. He's a super nice guy, and I like bumping into him now and then.

For those about to rock, we salute you.
